HOMELESS [mINISTRY] ALIVE |3-22-09|
Great response of volunteers in yesterdays homeless ministry. About 22 youth came ready to serve. We were able to fit 18 in the van and what we found was so much need in downtown Miami.
In the first 10 minutes we were out of food, socks and blankets. So we headed back to church to prepare more sandwiches and drinks.
We know we're not going to eliminate poverty or feed everyone that's hungry. Our goal is to show God's love. That's it. In the humble effort we have at hand, we chose to love those that need loving.
You can join us every Sunday as we gear up and go out to love. Your life will change. Your heart will soften at the needs of others.
What do we need? We desperately need pants, Men's SHOES (size 8 to 12), Sandals, ponchos, backpacks, blankets, socks, shirts or jackets, or weekly donations of bread, drinks, water and cash.
What can you do?
Besides getting involved? Well, if Sundays is difficult for you then help us by spreading the revolution around. Tell your friends, family and help us have the tools to not only tell some one "Jesus loves you" but to help them cover their body and put something in their stomachs.
Also, get involved your own way by telling your family to collect and even going out to pass our food, clothes, blankets, whatever during the week. This shouldn't just be a church ministry, but a Christians lifestyle; giving.
